JENNIFER LEE ROCKS THE AAUW OF LONG BEACH WITH HER AWESOME FILM AND Q&A ON WOMEN'S LIB, H
Celebrating Women in History Month, Award-Winning Independent Documentary Filmmaker
traveled to Long Beach for a special AAUW screening of her film "Feminist Stories from Women's Liberation."
"As we watch a woman make a serious run for the White House, the interest in the feminist movement has a new generation asking questions about what it really means to be a feminist," says Ms. Lee, who strives to connect the importance of women's history in developing women as future leaders in order to balance our male centered perspective on history.
AAUW Long Beach is a branch of the state's most active and diverse organization for women. The American Association of University Women (AAUW), founded in 1881, is the nation's leading organization advocating equity for women and girls.
Frances Rozner, President, AAUW Long Beach said, "Jennifer Lee's film is deserving of awards. It provides a firm grasp on what transpired to bring about the Women's Lib movement. The film offers insightful interviews with a broad group of feminists who were involved in changing the status of women. Jennifer's Q & A session was inspiring - she's passionate about being a feminist and she re-kindled that passion in us to actively continue the fight for equal rights."
